Hello, I’m TechVio, I am 15 years old, I’m an IT hobbyist, today I will tell you how I got into the IT field.
When I was so young, I was studying in a school where they teach IT once a week, it was a new material at the beginning, and this is normal, I was still in the first grade, it was really interesting and funny, I loved it, and since I had a PC at home, I was practicing on it, my dad was helping me even if he doesn’t have much experience in IT.
We learned how to navigate on Windows, it was Windows XP and 7 back then, after that, we started learning Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010, it was a big step for us moving from just discovering windows, to actually starting using applications.
And here I started expanding my skills, learning about how to fix computer issues, learning more about computers and phones, I started trying to fix people’s phones like my family and my friends, I was failing most of the time, but this didn’t stop me, and I was keeping doing the same thing, sometimes I do it right and sometimes I fail, my parents knew that I’m into the IT field, so they started supporting me, they gave me a better laptop, they showed me some tips that may help me, the laptop didn’t last long but I learned a lot of things on it, it was actually the first laptop which I have updated it to a new major Windows version, it was Windows 10, I did try other windows versions like Windows 8 just to get a look about how windows was improving.
My teacher supported me and started showing me some advanced tips, I was developing my skills, after 5 years a new secondary IT teacher came.
Between the 5th and 6th grade, the new teacher came to the school, and started teaching me some information I didn’t know about, like Linux, he also showed me how to type faster and many other things, he was a really nice man, he also showed me how to format windows and do a clean install without wiping the data drive.
The 6th grade ended, which means it was time to move to middle school, but this time I’m gonna study in public school, I was really sad because in public school there is no IT material, so I started learning independently, which I still do it to this day.
I didn’t give up, I learned many things like programming languages, and cyber security, I was a tech consultant at my old school as a volunteer which was my first real work.
In 9 years, I learned Windows, Linux, programming, networking, cyber security, graphic design, computer troubleshooting, and many more other cool things.
Moral of the story: never give up, and follow your dreams no matter what happens.
